What to watch for: After a 6-1 start, the red-hot Lions are looking to extend a rare three-game winning streak in their first nationally televised matchup of the season. But the Bills are one of the toughest teams in the league and already know Ford Field, having just played at the Motor City after a snowstorm forced them to switch locations in Week 11, in the top 6 in points per game, yards per game and yards per game through 10 contests. -Eric Woodyard

Bold prediction: Bills quarterback Josh Allen will have a full get-right play, throwing for over 300 yards and rushing at least 50 more. After a bumpy first half against the Browns, he put in a strong second-half performance in the win, completing 81.8% of his passes and throwing for 10.3 yards per attempt. The Lions defense has conceded the most yards per game (415.9) and yards per pass attempt (8.1) in the NFL. The Bills’ offense began to move in the right direction in the last two quarters of Sunday and the game against the Lions will be a great opportunity for a full performance. – Alaina Getzenberg

Fun fact: The Lions are aiming for their third straight game with 30 points, which would be their longest streak since 1997. A big reason they’re scoring points is running back Jamaal Williams, whose 12 rushing TDs this year are the most in the NFL and the sixth-highest in a single season in franchise history. Williams now has five games with multiple rushing touchdowns in 2022, the most in a season by a Lions player since 1950.

Injuries: Bills | lions

What you should know about Fantasy: Buffalo running back Devin Singletary has hit 15 fantasy points three times this season, and two of those instances have occurred in the past two weeks. He has 133 total rushing yards (66.5 per game) and three rushing TDs in his last two games. See ranking week 12.

Betting Nugget: Since 2004, Detroit has been 3-11 against the spread and 0-14 as an underdog on Thanksgiving. Detroit’s last surprise Thanksgiving win came in 2003 against Green Bay (+7). Continue reading.

Thanksgiving Day Recap: On Thanksgiving Day in 1997, Detroit running back Barry Sanders rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns against the Bears in a 55-20 win for the Lions. Continue reading.

Moody’s choice: Bills 31, Lions 20
Walder’s choice: Bills 34, Lions 17
FPI Prediction: BUF, 82.7% (down an average of 11.2 points)

4:30 p.m. ET | FOX | Spread: DAL -9 (44.5)

What to look out for: The Cowboys have beaten New York five times in a row at AT&T Stadium and 11 out of 12 overall against their NFC East rivals. This is the first Thanksgiving meeting for the two teams since 1992, a 30-3 Dallas win. But the vacation hasn’t been good for the cowboys lately. They have lost three straight Thanksgiving Day games, their longest streak since losing four straight games from 1986–89. – Todd Archer

Bold Prediction: Giants running back Saquon Barkley will rush for more than 140 yards to keep the game closed. The understaffed Giants will have no choice but to rely on Barkley even more than usual. It could work against a Dallas defense whose weakness is stopping the run. The Cowboys are ranked 26th in rushing defense (136.1 yards against per game), and Barkley has had two games with 30 or more carries and 140+ yards. Make them three. –Jordan Raanan

Fun fact: No quarterback has thrown touchdowns against the Blitz at a higher rate since the start of last season than the Cowboys’ Dak Prescott (11.4%). He has thrown 25 such touchdowns during that period, most of them in the NFL. That could be an issue for New York on Thursday. The Giants bring the Blitz at the highest rate in the NFL (43%).

Injuries: Giants | cowboys

Fun fact for fantasies: Dallas running back Tony Pollard has gained 464 yards on his 61 touches in his last three games, while fellow backfield Ezekiel Elliott has gained 241 yards on his last 61 touches. Pollard also has six scrimmage touchdowns since Week 8, which was the most in the NFL in that span with Jamaal Williams. His four straight games with 100 yards from scrimmage is also the longest active streak in the league. See ranking week 12.

What to look for: The Patriots have outplayed him in two duels with Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, beating his teams both times and holding him to an average of 5.0 yards per attempt — his lowest stat against any team, whom he faced on multiple games. This season, the Patriots are relying on the kind of defense that’s also giving him problems. They put pressure on 34% of opponents’ dropbacks, the third-highest rate in the NFL. The Vikings will play without standout left tackle Christian Darrisaw (concussion) and the Cousins QBR dropped 60 points while under pressure in 2022. – Kevin Seifert

Bold prediction: Quarterback Mac Jones and the Patriots’ struggling red-zone offense — which ranks 31st in the NFL in terms of TD percentage (12 of 28 trips, 42.9%) — will break out of a dip and twice scoring from the inside 20-yard line. This is one area where the Vikings have struggled on defense, as they rank last in the NFL for opponents’ touchdown percentage (20 TDs vs in 28 trips, 71.4%). – Mike Reiss

Stats: The Patriots have conceded 17 points or fewer in all six wins this season (0-4 if 17+ points were conceded), and they have now gone two straight games without conceding a touchdown. Injuries: Patriots | viking

What you should know about Fantasy: Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson managed just 6.3 Fantasy points in last week’s blowout loss to the Cowboys after picking up 15 points in each of his previous six games. The last time he missed five passes in a game was in Week 3, and he followed that dud with back-to-back double-digit catches. See ranking week 12.
