The compact sedan Hyundai Elantra is about to get a facelift.
A prototype has been spotted and its heavy camouflage gear suggests major styling changes.
There appear to be new bezels at both ends, along with a new grille shape and slimmer headlights whose daytime running lights can form a strip of light along the front edge of the hood. The graphics of the taillights also seem to have been redesigned.
A shot of the cabin confirms that some changes will take place inside, although details are difficult to discern. There may be a new design for the infotainment screen and possibly the instrument cluster too.

It’s not clear what mechanical changes are planned, if any. The front-wheel drive Elantra’s powertrain lineup covers a wide power spectrum, including a fuel-efficient hybrid option with 139 hp on tap, as well as a 201-hp 1.6-liter turbo-4 and a 276-hp 2.0-liter turbo-4 die respective Elantra N-Line and Elantra N. In the 2023 model year, the N-Line lost its standard manual transmission, leaving an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic as the only option. However, the N still offers both options.
The current Elantra, the seventh generation of the nameplate, has arrived for the 2021 model year. This updated version was slated for release in 2024, meaning a debut later this year is likely.
Production of the Elantra for the USA takes place at Hyundai’s plant in Montgomery, Alabama.
