The 2024 Kia EV9 debuted with a blocky design, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQG underwent cold-weather testing, and the GMA T.50 supercar went into production. It’s the week in reverse, right here at Motor Authority.
Kia pulled the covers off the 2024 EV9 during an online debut. Slender in detail and long in photos, the EV9’s design stays true to the concept with an upright block shape and stamped metal. Inside, the EV9 seats six or seven passengers, and the available second-row captain’s chairs can be rotated up to 180 degrees.
Lamborghini showed and detailed the carbon fiber chassis of the Aventador successor. The V-12 plug-in hybrid supercar, codenamed LB744, will feature a carbon fiber monocoque structure, carbon fiber front frame and Formula 1 style carbon fiber crash cones to increase torsional rigidity and save weight .
The Mercedes-Benz EQG 2024 underwent a cold-weather test on public roads in Europe. The electric flagship SUV takes on its combustion engine brother, meaning it looks like a rolling box on wheels with a slab-like design and circular headlights.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class coupe also debuted online just before the redesigned 2023 GLC-Class arrives this spring. The coupe variant has a faster roofline for a sleeker look. It will follow the more upright model when it arrives later this year.
The GMA T.50 V-12 supercar went into production. About two and a half years after the initial presentation, production is underway at the GMA plant in Dunsfold, Great Britain. Only 100 examples of the T.50 will be built, along with 25 examples of Niki Lauda’s track-focused T.50.
