Amy Robach and TJ Holmes have been temporarily pulled from hosting GMA3: What You Need To Know starting Dec. 5, according to Page Six. The site reports that the decision was made by ABC News president Kim Godwin, who reportedly shared the news with staff on the morning of December 5. which was released on November 30 had become an “internal and external distraction”. HollywoodLife has reached out to a GMA3 representative for confirmation.

Godwin reportedly made it clear that Amy and TJ’s relationship did not violate company policy. However, according to Page Six’s report, she decided to pull her from her show because of the GMA brand. “After much thought, I’m taking Amy and TJ off the air while we figure this out,” Godwin reportedly said on the call. Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez are stepping in to host the show with Jennifer Ashton in the absence of Amy and TJ.

Amy and TJ have worked together at ABC since 2014 and began co-hosting GMA3: What You Need To Know in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. Photos of the two indulging over the PDA throughout November surfaced on November 30. Viewers were shocked to hear about the romance as neither journalist had publicly announced their respective splits from their spouses (Amy married Andrew Shue in 2010 and TJ married Marilee Fiebig that same year).

However, after the relationship was exposed, sources confirmed to People that both Amy and TJ split from their partners in August 2022. “They were both separated, so they felt comfortable dating openly afterwards,” the magazine’s source claimed. “Their spouses had even moved out, so they weren’t hiding anything.”

Amy and TJ both appeared on GMA3 in the days after their relationship was revealed, but they didn’t publicly address the situation on air. However, both deleted their Instagram accounts in the wake of the scandal that became public knowledge.
