The now estranged wife of Anchorman star David Koechner has asked a Los Angeles court to suspend his visiting rights with their five children after spoiling him on a DUI.

Leigh Morgan Koechner filed the request on January 7, and also petitioned to “establish safeguards to ensure (Koechner) sobriety,” according to TMZ.

But the 59-year-old actor is against the visit request, noting that None of the former couple’s children were in the car at the time of his drunk driving arrest on December 31.

Status of the law: One week after David Kushner, 59, was arrested and held in a DUI, his now estranged wife Lee Morgan Kushner has asked a Los Angeles court to suspend visitation rights with their five children; The ex-couple was photographed in 2018

Out of the guarantees I asked for in her file, I asked Koechner to take a drug test as well as a Soberlink device to monitor his alcohol consumption.

The actor (also known for his comedy performances in The Goldbergs and The Office) fights off the visitation request, stating that None of the couple’s children were in the car at the time of the arrest.

Furthermore, he claims to have driven their five children with her knowledge, since the drunk driving accident on December 31.

He also says in his dispute that he is working on sobriety with professional help.

Lee and David married in 1998 and have five children: sons Charlie and Sargent and daughters Audrey, Margot and Eve.

After 22 years of marriage, David filed for divorce from Lee in 2020, and in his file, requested joint legal and physical custody of their three minor children at the time.

At about 3 p.m. on December 31, police in Simi Valley, California were called about an “eccentric driver,” as first reported by TMZ.

Kushner was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed after hitting a street sign with his car. His car was towed shortly thereafter.

According to law enforcement, it had two flat tires when it was parked and blew a 13 in the field and a .12 back in the station.

Records detail how he was booked into the Ventura County Jail at 5:15 p.m. that day to be released the next morning on New Year’s Day, before 6 a.m.

He now has a court date scheduled for March 30 in Ventura County Superior Court. It appears to be the actor’s first personal identification document in California.

A day after his release from prison, DailyMail.com obtained exclusive photos of the actor filling up a heavily soiled car at a Shell gas station, although it is not known if it was the car that was involved in the December 31 accident.
