Bam Margera hospitalized with pneumonia, put on ventilator

Bam Margera is in a hospital battling a very serious case of pneumonia that has been complicated by COVID-19… TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the situation tell us Bam was hospitalized in San Diego earlier this week. He then tested positive for Covid in hospital… and we’ve since been told doctors had decided to put him on a ventilator. He is being treated in intensive care, but his condition is stable.

As we reported, Bam has been in and out of rehab this year after completing a year-long drug and alcohol abuse treatment program.

Our sources say that during one of his stints in rehab, he befriended a lawyer who convinced him he could get him out of court-ordered treatment and “free Bam.”

Since then, we’ve seen him party in Atlanta in September and was in Las Vegas the following month. We’re told Bam never completed his court order and many people around him were worried about the former ‘Jackass’ star.

Our sources say the so-called “Free Bam Movement” – fueled by online speculation that his family was putting him in a conservatory similar to Britney Spears – really confused Bam and hampered his recovery process.

We are told it got so bad that his family and temporary health guardian – who is a longtime family friend – received threats over the summer and had to speak out publicly.
