(Natural News) Big-tech mogul Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has pledged to spend more than $7 billion over the next four years to explore innovative approaches to population control and empowerment develop and implement abortion.

“Constant reduction in maternal mortality, constant reduction in neonatal mortality, under-five mortality, that’s really the metric that’s driving our foundation,” Gates said when the 17-19 pandemic began.

According to the foundation’s website, this new commitment to support African countries comes in addition to the Gates Foundation’s existing funding for multilateral organizations, including Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

“The great global challenges we face are ongoing. But we have to remember that people solve them, too,” Gates stressed. Our foundation will continue to support solutions in healthcare, agriculture and other critical areas, and the systems to get them out of the lab and into the people who need them.”

But critics believe these “charitable works” are linked to ideological agendas — especially as the billionaire’s endowment has been linked to promoting abortion, in sharp contrast to the dominant pro-life culture of many African countries. Coalition of Pro-Life Nations Commemorates Second Anniversary of Geneva Consensus Statement

On the same day of Gates’ visit to Kenya, a coalition of governments to advance women’s health policies gathered at the US Capitol to commemorate the second anniversary of the Geneva Consensus Declaration, an anti-abortion declaration co-sponsored by the governments of Brazil, Egypt and Hungary , Indonesia, Uganda and the United States.

Bound by the belief that women’s health should not be abused by ideological agendas, the 36 countries on five continents that have signed the declaration, support both women and unborn children in seeking actual health care. The US was one of the founding members of the coalition, but President Joe Biden withdrew his membership immediately after taking office.

Hungarian Ambassador to the US Szabolcs Takács said on the occasion that the Hungarian government firmly believes that “every human being should have the right to life… and fetal life should be protected from the moment of conception”.

Ambassador Alfonso Quiñonez of Guatemala agreed. “Life begins at conception. No question for us,” he said. Quiñonez also carried Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei’s message that his country “will continue to fight for life at all stages from conception to natural death.”

The ambassador cited Guatemala’s recent efforts to combat abortion activism at the United Nations as evidence of their commitment to life.

Meanwhile, an opinion piece published by LifeNews said: “Big donors like the Gates Foundation and the US government should heed the Geneva Consensus. Governments that are at the end of their “aid” can speak for themselves, and together they speak loud and clear that every human being is born with inherent dignity and the right to life, and real women’s health advances should never be held hostage abortion agenda.”
