Chennai: Transfer of 1,000 Indian crocodiles raises thorny issues

“Hundreds of crocodile eggs are destroyed every year because of the bank’s overpopulation,” says Nikhil Whitaker, curator of the center in the city of Chennai. “The decision to relocate the crocodiles was made to provide them with a better habitat,” he adds.
