dr Anthony Fauci on Friday expressed confusion over Twitter owner Elon Musk’s call for prosecution and the billionaire’s teasing about the release of what he calls the “Fauci Files.”
Neil Cavuto, the host of Fox News’ “Your World,” asked the former longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases what he “made of the richest man in the world, or now second richest, who’s after you “.
“I have no idea what he’s talking about, Neil,” Fauci replied. “I wish I had. I have no idea what he’s referring to.”
Previous episodes of the “Twitter Files” series have detailed the internal discussions and how the social media platform worked prior to Musk’s purchase. According to Musk, the “Fauci files” should be released in early January. But the release seems to be delayed.

“I just don’t understand what he’s doing. And I don’t think I should go into that because it’s a bit of a mystery to me,” said Fauci, who has been the subject of intense right-wing attacks over his push for COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccine and mask mandates.
Fauci told Cavuto he had “absolutely nothing to hide” and was “capable of defending everything I’ve done.”
“So, a lot of people splash a lot about things on me and Twitter. I don’t have a twitter account. I’ve never had a Twitter account. I don’t intend to have a Twitter account. And I had nothing to do with Twitter,” he said. “Well, I don’t know what you’re talking about when you say that, Neil. I just don’t. I’m confused.”
Last month, Fauci called Musk’s attacks “merely a distraction.”
