Buena Vista was closed to traffic, as was a path that runs under the apartment buildings.
Footage posted by OCFA on Twitter showed extensive damage to the rear of the residences, with patio furniture strewn on the hill. Orange County Sheriff’s officials said the buildings had been given yellow markings, according to OnScene.TV.
No injuries were reported.
However, Clayton Robinson told KABC-TV that he may have lost everything in the slide.
“We called our insurance company and they said, well, they don’t cover hills that go downhill,” Robinson told the station. “So all we have left is our belief in God.”
