PHILADELPHIA — Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat was carted off the field in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints with a neck injury after crashing headfirst into fullback Adam Prentice in a tackle.
He was transported to the hospital for further examination. According to the team, Sweat has movement in all of his extremities.
The sweat stayed face down on the floor for several minutes while worried teammates and coaches stood by. He was eventually put on a stretcher and lifted onto a cart to take him inside.

The entire Eagles team flocked to the field to support Sweat, and members of the Saints also gave him encouragement just before he was driven off.
Before entering the tunnel, Sweat raised an arm to signal the crowd, who chanted his name.
The 25-year-old Sweat is having a career 11-sack season. He had recorded at least one sack in each of the Eagles’ previous five games.
