Flames erupt after a gas pipeline explosion in Lithuania

A gas pipeline connecting Lithuania and Latvia has exploded outside of Pasvalys in Lithuania.

The flames reached a height of about 50 meters, but firefighters said the fire should gradually subside after valves on the pipeline located the rupture.

There were no reports of injuries, but local officials urged people to close windows and stay indoors.
