GOP Legislators Introduce “Fair Tax” Legislation That Would Neutralize IRS and Significantly Simplify Tax Code – zoohousenews.com
(Natural News) In the lame duck session of Congress ahead of the Republican takeover of the House after regaining control during the midterm elections in November, the Democrat-controlled chamber plowed another billion dollars into a massive $1.7 trillion Dollar “omnibus” spending package included to hire a small army of IRS agents and associates – 87,000 to be precise – over the next ten years.
Party members claimed the reason was that the federal government would be better equipped to go after “wealthy tax dodgers” who allegedly plot every year to swindle the government (and the American people) out of taxpayers’ money.
That’s a lie, of course, and a verifiable one, as a study published earlier this week by Syracuse University researchers proved; It turns out that the Biden regime in particular is using the IRS as a weapon against working men and women. More on that later.
To prevent this kind of abuse, however, a Georgia Republican legislator, Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter, introduced legislation that essentially castrates the IRS and drastically reduces the agency’s size (and power) through a massive reduction would simplify tax legislation, which has become extremely complex and has given rise to an entire industry of “tax professionals” whose job it is to regulate everything.
Carter on Tuesday “introduced HR 25, the Fair Tax Act, to replace the current tax law with a national consumption tax called the Fair Tax,” according to a press release from his office.
“Co-sponsoring this Georgia statute was my first act as a congressman and is appropriately the first bill I am introducing in the 118th Congress,” Carter said. “Rather than add 87,000 new agents to arm the IRS against small business owners and Central America, this bill will completely eliminate the need for the department by simplifying the tax code with provisions that work for the American people and encourage growth and innovation.” Armed, unelected bureaucrats shouldn’t have any more power over your paycheck than you do.”
Several of the bill’s co-sponsors also commented on the measure.
“As a former small business owner, I understand the unnecessary burden that our failing income tax system is putting on Americans. The Fair Tax Act eliminates the tax code, replaces the income tax with a sales tax, and abolishes the abusive Internal Revenue Service. When this goes into effect, it will empower the American taxpayer and help more Americans achieve the American Dream,” added Rep. Jeff Duncan.
“I support Fair Tax because it simplifies our tax law. This transforms US tax law from a mandatory, progressive, and convoluted system into a fully transparent and unbiased system that abolishes the IRS as we know it. It’s good for our economy because it encourages work, savings and investments. Thank you to my fellow Rep. Buddy Carter for leading this effort to simplify the system for American taxpayers,” Rep. Bob Good offered.
“I am very proud to once again support the FairTax Act,” said MP Kat Cammack. “We have seen continued growth of the IRS and continued punishment of hard-working Americans through the tax code. What we are demanding is a simplified and fair code that works for everyone, not just some. I call on my colleagues to support this sensible legislation that takes a stand against arming the IRS and stops punishing those who work hard to succeed.”
Regarding the Syracuse study, Fox News reported that the IRS is behaving very differently than the Democrats claim, which is typical:
A study of the 2022 IRS tax audit data found that a taxpayer in the lowest income bracket is five times more likely to face an audit than a member in the highest income bracket.
Translation: Poorer working Americans had their tax returns audited five times more often than millionaire earners, proving once again that the Democrats are the party of tyranny, power and money.
