Hamas says Israel deployed ‘killer Zionist dolphins’ near Gaza

Hamas suspects that the Israeli dolphins are working on something fishy.

The militant Islamist group claimed in a video posted by its military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, that it captured a heavily armed Israeli dolphin off the coast of Gaza, according to i24 News.

“Deadly Zionist dolphins exist, according to Hamas publications.” Joe Trosman tweetedScholar at the Long War Journal and the Foundation for Defense of Intellectual Democracies.

Abu Hamza explains that a member of Hamas’ Al-Dofudman unit who was killed by Israel during the May conflict found the killer dolphin. The device that the alleged killer was wearing is shown in the post.

Naval analyst and author H.I. Sutton wrote that the video posted to Twitter shows a harness that the armed group claims has been recovered. The strap seems to fit the dolphin’s nose.

The belt, he said, is “similar to those used in the marine mammal programs of the US Navy and the Russian Navy. The belt appears to be fitted with a device resembling a spear gun.”

Sutton noted that while the alleged incident could not be confirmed, “it is at least plausible that Israel had a marine mammal program.”

The fin flutter wasn’t the first time its neighbors have accused Israel of using animals for military purposes, i24 News reported.

In 2013, Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV channel accused the Jewish state of using a spy bird captured in Lebanon, according to the report.

This is the device that Hamas claimed the “Zionist dolphin” was wearing.

Elias Groel wrote in an article published by: 2015 Foreign Policy Piece.

The claim made waves in social media, with users ridiculing the idea of killer dolphins, pointing out that the mammals are known for being docile.

“In other news, the much-vaunted supposed Hamas heroes are frightened by a few cute dolphins!” International human rights lawyer Arsene Ostrovsky said in a tweet.

According to a marine analyst, the device "Similar to those used in the marine mammal programs of the US Navy and the Russian Navy."
According to a marine analyst, the device is “similar to those used in the marine mammal programs of the US Navy and the Russian Navy.”

“Good morning agent, please report the service!” He said in another post, which included a picture of a cute dolphin.

Another user, Sia Kordestani, posted a photo of an airborne dolphin wearing an Israeli Navy beret firing a laser pistol at the enemy.

“Wonderful. Hamas publishes a photo of the moment the commander of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam beach patrol was martyred at the hands of a secret Israeli spy dolphin!” Mocked.
