(Natural News) The other night, on Tucker Carlson’s show, restaurant owner Stratis Morfogen explained how New York Gov. Kathy “Karen” Hochul’s proposal to ban gas stoves in new buildings would “destroy” the restaurant and hospitality sector.
Allegedly to prevent “global warming” and “brain damage”, Hochul and others on the left want only electric cooking appliances to be allowed in new buildings. Should this actually happen, cafes and other restaurants would no longer be able to conduct their business.
“We’ve been attacked by everyone for 35 years,” Morfogen told Carlson. “We had organized crime in our industry in the ’30s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. In the 2000s we had corrupt Wall Street, and for the past three years we’ve had government encroachment.”
“I mean, we saw it during Covid – they’ve been doing things and never following the science and what’s going on. I heard a rumor about this last year, and what I’m hearing today from the White House to Governor Hochul, that they’re trying to get us to use electric stoves to build new restaurants.”
According to Hochul’s plan, not only would gas stoves be banned in new buildings, but also gas heaters. Everyone would be forced to use expensive and highly inefficient electrical cooking and heating appliances, which would also put a huge strain on the electricity grid. Electric stoves are 40% less productive than gas stoves
According to Hochul and other Democrats, the planet’s climate is reportedly changing due to gas consumption. To stop climate change, electricity must be the only energy source used – ironically even from coal.
“Let me explain: We lose 40 percent of our productivity using electric,” Morfogen continued. “If you’re checking out small business owners, I’ll give them three pieces of advice: get a stronger filtration system; Get a hood system that works; and basically you train your staff on maintenance.”
Citing a single study that claims gas stoves contribute to 12.7 percent of all childhood asthma cases, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is seeking to enforce a nationwide ban on gas stoves — because freedom of choice is not one of this group’s values.
“For 35 years we have faced constant obstacles to running our industry,” Morfogen added during the interview.
“I have to tell you, Tucker – and I want to thank you for supporting small businesses – since I was last there you have inspired me to write the book. And I have to tell you, our journey is under constant attack, we are vulnerable and this is the cream of the crop, because I’m telling you, this is going to destroy our industry just like they tried to do with Covid.”

Nicknamed the “Golden Greek,” Morfogen has owned and operated a number of top New York City restaurants—at least 41 of them, to be exact. He told the New York Post last summer that theft, economic crises, demolition issues and changing neighborhoods are among the many reasons his restaurants have come and gone over the years.
“Our industry was like the Wild West back then,” he explained. “There’s a knock on the door and you have to pay protection lest the mob break your window or your manager’s legs.”
The new mob are apparently Democrats and their “green” tyranny solutions to climate problems that are utterly non-existent outside of their own confused minds.
