King Charles & Queen Camilla’s 1st Christmas Card: Photo – Hollywood Life

King Charles III and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla Parker-Bowles, have issued their first ever Christmas card since he became the reigning monarch. The 74-year-old King and 75-year-old Camilla both looked majestic in the elegant portrait taken by Sam Hussein at the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering on September 3. The occasion came just days before the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth at the age of 96 on September 8, 2022. “Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” read a message on the inside of the card, which was placed in front of a Christmas tree in the London’s Clarence House is placed in red lettering. The card was also posted to the Royal Family’s Instagram account, along with the message: “We are delighted to share this year’s Christmas card from The King and The Queen Consort.”

In the photo, the king is looking straight ahead, seen from the side, and is smiling. He wore a beige blazer and crisp white shirt, along with a vacation-appropriate black and green striped tee. Meanwhile, Camilla is seen staring at her 17-year-old husband in a green ensemble with red accents and a matching green hat. She also wore pearl earrings reminiscent of those worn regularly by her late mother-in-law.

The former Prince of Wales became King Charles III on September 8, 2022 following the death of his mother, who served an impressive 70 years on the throne. of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth kingdoms. Notably, Charles has yet to be officially crowned, however the date for the historic ceremony has been set for Saturday May 6th at Westminster Abbey. The event is reported to be an abbreviated version as Charles continues to seek to modernize the monarchy. In a press release, Buckingham Palace said the event will be “rooted in longstanding traditions” but will also “reflect the role of the monarch today and look to the future”. Specific details for the coronation – dubbed Operation Golden Orb – are yet to be confirmed outside of the date.
