Johnny Knoxville calls Pam Margera’s absence from Jack *** Forever ‘heartbreaking’
With “Jack *** Forever” released February 4, Johnny Knoxville is opening up about what he calls the “heartbreaking” turn of events that limited Bam Margera’s appearance in the film to just one stunt. The original star of the classic MTV reality series, “Jack ***,” Bam was cut from the movie when he resumed filming after a COVID-19-related production delay because he allegedly tested positive for Adderall, thus violating the terms of the “wellness agreement” attached to his contract. Pam, who has been in and out of rehab with substance abuse problems for years, is now suing Johnny and other co-stars for ending it wrongly. “We wanted him throughout the movie, but unfortunately it wasn’t,” Johnny recently told Variety. “It’s really heartbreaking. I love Pam. We all love Pam. He’s our brother, you know? You just hope he takes it upon himself to get the help he needs, because we all care so much about him.” Last year, Pam launched a rant against Johnny and director Jeff Tremaine on social media, declaring that they had “hanged him ‘like a doll'” before being fired. At the time, “Jack***” star Steve-O responded in the comments, writing, ” Everyone leaned back to share the movie with you, and all you had to do was not get loaded. I just kept getting loaded up, it’s that simple.” Asked by Variety if Pam’s lawsuit was a surprise, Johnny replied, “Yes and no. Because in a way that makes everything possible. So, something is going to break your heart — but it may not shock you.”
Joe Rogan, Spotify, called for misinformation about COVID-19 in an open letter from medical professionals
A coalition of 270 doctors, health care workers and scientists called on Joe Rogan and Spotify to spread disinformation and “promote unfounded conspiracy theories” about the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines. In an open letter to the player, the group cites a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the most popular podcast on Spotify, featuring Dr. Robert Malone. The authors argue that while Twitter banned the doctor for his posts regarding unproven theories about vaccines and more, Spotify has allowed him to continue spreading misinformation via Joe’s. The letter also targets Joe specifically. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Joe Rogan has repeatedly published misleading and false claims in his podcast, fueling distrust of science and medicine. He has discouraged vaccination in young people and children, incorrectly claimed mRNA vaccines as a ‘gene therapy’, promoted off-label use of ivermectin to treat COVID-19 (contrary to FDA warnings), and propagated a number of groundless conspiracy theories. .” From there, they delve into how “mass disinformation events of this magnitude have very serious repercussions” on medicine and society at large. The letter closes by asking Spotify to “immediately establish a clear public policy to amend misleading information on its platform.” As of January 14, four days after the letter was posted, Joe had not responded to requests from various outlets for comment.
