Manhattan DA warns office against intimidation after Trump’s arrest

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has reportedly warned staffers not to give in to intimidation and threats after former President Donald Trump called for protests in his Truth Social rage if he is arrested on Tuesday.

In an email to employees obtained by Politico and NBC News, Bragg cited “continued press attention and public comment” about an investigation into the bureau and reminded employees that their safety is the top priority.

The prosecutor’s news comes as his office is investigating hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Bragg did not mention the former president by name in his email.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, in an email obtained by Politico, warned employees not to be intimidated about their jobs.

“We will not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York,” Bragg wrote. “Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office are fully investigated and that the proper protective measures are put in place so that all 1,600 of us have a safe work environment.”

Bragg added that he is committed to maintaining a safe work environment for employees.

“In the meantime, as in all of our investigations, we will continue to apply the law equally and fairly, speaking publicly only when appropriate,” he wrote.

Manhattan DAs did not immediately respond to a HuffPost request for comment.

The email reportedly arrived after the former president ranted in capital letters to his supporters, calling for “PROTEST”. [to] TAKE BACK OUR NATION” in posts related to the Attorney’s Office.

The tirade followed a report that law enforcement in New York was preparing for the possibility of an indictment.

Several Republicans have since spoken out in support of Trump, including his former Vice President Mike Pence, who told reporters the idea of ​​impeaching a former president was “deeply disturbing” to him.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) also called Bragg “a radical prosecutor” and claimed he “lets violent criminals free while he pursues political revenge” against the former president.
