For the second time in as many days, a 1-seeded player has been eliminated from the NCAA tournament – and that’s not even the biggest headline of the day.
15th-seeded Princeton pulled off their second big upset, defeating 7th-seeded Missouri 78-63. Mitch Henderson’s side didn’t need a late-game comeback this time, taking a sizeable first-half lead and surviving a Missouri run before opening the game wide. It’s the third consecutive tournament with a 15-seed in the Sweet 16, after St. Peter’s and Oral Roberts.
Meanwhile, there will be no back-to-back champion this season. Kansas lost to Arkansas after the Razorbacks closed a 12-point deficit in the second half to win 72-71. Eric Musselman’s team find themselves in the Sweet 16 for the third year in a row. -Jeff Borzello
