Mark Curry claims he was racially profiled at a Colorado hotel – and the video evidence he has certainly raises some questions as to why he was even approached.
The actor/comedian posted a video this weekend showing him in the lobby of a joint called The Mining Exchange (a Wyndham hotel) in downtown Colorado Springs — where he was for an appearance at a nearby comedy club was in town.

The clip begins with Mark sitting down and enjoying a coffee, but almost immediately…we see two employees standing nearby, looking over him. MC says they approached him out of nowhere and asked if he was a guest staying there (he obviously was).
Mark begins to wonder why he’s being asked this…and jumps to the conclusion that it’s because he’s black. He accuses the staff of harassing him and loudly wonders why other guests in the lobby aren’t being asked the same thing.
The staff have no real answer for him and just stand there in embarrassment while Mark continues to record. Eventually he uses the bathroom in a tense environment and is asked for his ID by a receptionist. Later he enters his room and vents.
Mark says that at some point in America you can’t be black without an interrogation, and he’s fed up with it. He posted the hotel’s phone number and encouraged people to blow it up.
As for the hotel, they have since apologized – saying they had reached out to Mark to compensate him for his stay and to offer him another free visit in the future. They also say they will retrain their staff afterwards to ensure it remains a place that is welcoming to all.
