With three in total – one of which is reconfigured and rebuilt weekly – the app is the perfect place for skiers and snowboarders with more stunt experience. These parks include one of only eleven Burton Progression Parks in North America. But be prepared to review a short video and answer a ten-question quiz if you plan to use any of the top ranges, as certification is required to ride them.

If boxes, rails and jumps aren’t your thing, the app offers twelve trails, most of which are moderately difficult. In connection with only 365 meters of altitude, the app is perfect for beginners and advanced. When the pistes are open and illuminated, until 10 p.m. On weekdays and at midnight on weekends you can ride for a whole day and more.

The pass situation: weekday tickets are $46, rising to $71 on Saturdays and Sundays; They cost $31 and $55 for juniors and seniors. Given App’s proximity to App State University, students can get weekday passes for as little as $37.

Where to Eat, Drink, and Drink Après: One of North Carolina’s most popular small towns, Blowing Rock offers an abundance of food and drink. Be sure to visit the Speckled Trout Restaurant and Bottle Shop for top-notch local fare (and some of the craft brews that West North Carolina is quickly becoming famous for). For something a little more upscale, head to Best Cellar Restaurant, a staple of fine dining since 1975. Of course the Boone is just around the corner with even more options, high, medium and low.

Where to stay: Founded in 1846, the Chetola Resort is one of western North Carolina’s premier and most historic hotels. Meanwhile, the Mountainaire Inn is one of the top rated budget hotels in America.

A few hours down the Blue Ridge Range, past the Pisgah National Forest, you’ll find the ultra-charming mountain town of Asheville. Known for the massive Biltmore mansion and a robust craft beer scene, Asheville sits squarely between two of the Blue Ridge’s best small ski resorts, making it a perfect base for hitting both mountains in a weekend.

Thirty minutes north of town is Wolf Ridge Ski Resort. With a peak elevation of 4,700 feet and 700 feet of vertical drop, Wolf Ridge is the smallest ski run in the region. But with only two of its fifteen runs rated as intermediate, Wolf Ridge is a great mountain for beginners and intermediate skiers, and is fantastic for families. Like any small ski resort, what it lacks in vertical action it more than makes up for with top-notch lodges and night skiing.

The pass situation: Adult day passes are $47 on weekdays and $76 on weekends. Students and juniors can win a ticket for $37 and $56 respectively. Seniors ride for free.

Après, Eat and Drink: Your best bet for entertainment while skiing in Wolf Ridge is nearby Asheville, which boasts some of the best restaurants and bars in the south. Tupelo Honey is perhaps Asheville’s most famous and popular restaurant, offering a modern take on classic Southern cuisine. If beer is your thing, there’s no better place than Asheville, easily one of America’s top brewing cities. But if you only want to try one, visit Highland Brewing Company, “the largest independent family-owned brewery in the Southeast”.

Where to Stay: If you want to stay closer to the mountain than in Asheville, choose the stately Bald Mountain House at the Wolf Laurel Resort B&B just down the road.
