Protests in Paris as Macron pushes through pension reform

Protests erupted on the streets of Paris and inside the National Assembly building as the government pushed through raising the retirement age.

Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne invoked Article 49:3, a constitutional power that meant a vote on the move was not required to avoid a possible government defeat.
