Fans of Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, are finding new ways to use internet communities dedicated to the rapper after he spotted a spate of anti-Semitic behavior this week.
Ye’s response largely focuses on an interview he gave on Thursday, in which he praised Adolf Hitler and said he saw “good things” in the Nazi dictator.
Many users of the Kanye Reddit forum this week took issue with the rapper’s comments. Some shared photos and comments about the horrors of the Holocaust, while others made posts to commemorate the 6 million Jews who perished in the genocide.
One user swore he would die before respecting the people responsible for the mass killings of World War II. Another revealed his recent financial support for the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Some reflected on their family connections to genocide, including one user who said his grandfather was freed from a concentration camp.
One person who said they identified as Jewish wrote in a post that the forum’s Holocaust memorial posts brought her to tears.
“Thank you for standing up for us,” said the user.
“I grew up with Kanye… and while I haven’t heard of his stuff after 2018, it means so much that y’all don’t stand for that anti-Semitism. Fuck Nazis and Fuck Kanye.”
A number of people on the “Kanye” subreddit also wrote about their support for Taylor Swift to distance themselves from the rapper. Ye controversially interrupted the singer during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
All the Kanye fans on Reddit declare that Kanye is over and that they are Swifties now, and head to Taylor Swift’s subreddit to ask which album to listen to first. Karma is really a god. pic.twitter.com/wqt1YTjaNB

Meanwhile, a moderator of Ye-related community WestSubEver wrote Thursday that the forum would be shut down for the foreseeable future, adding that Ye’s anti-Semitic interview was the “final nail in the coffin.”
“When this submarine and previous submarines were created, they should follow and support Ye in his various adventures,” said the presenter.
“Right now, there are no operations for Ye that are not openly hateful towards various groups of people. Again, we do not condone any of the hate speech that Ye and his new colleagues are spreading.”
