Thousands of Israelis protest in Tel Aviv against legal reforms

Thousands of Israelis have protested in Tel Aviv against government reform plans that critics said would cripple the independence of the judiciary.

The protesters called the changes proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu undermining democratic rule.

Israeli media estimate the number of participants at around 80,000, with similar protests taking place in Jerusalem and Haifa.
