JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Jaguars needed a big game to get back in the game against the Cowboys, and Trevor Lawrence and Zay Jones delivered.
Lawrence rolled to the right, escaping Dallas defensive end Dante Fowler and throwing the ball down the right touchline to Jones, who got behind cornerback Kelvin Joseph, who is in his second game as a starter since taking charge of Anthony Brown. who suffered a torn Achilles tendon on December 4 against Indianapolis.
Jones caught the ball in crotch and then covered it with both arms as Joseph tried to trip it before falling over the goal line for the 59-yard TD.
It was the Jaguars’ longest passing game of the season – and a nice rebound for Lawrence, who had intercepted the Jaguars’ previous possession. That was his first interception in 204 pass attempts.
