Manhattan’s food and drink scene is peppered with a variety of lively, locally owned and operated eateries. Across Manhattan you’ll find distinctive coffee shops, wineries and breweries, and unique restaurants to suit every taste. Enjoy great Kansas steaks and BBQ, as well as authentic Mexican, Chinese, Thai and Korean food. Many of its well-loved establishments, most from humble beginnings, have gained regional recognition. One such collection is that of the One Egg Group, founded by husband and wife team Evan and Andrea Grier and run by a team of Manhattan’s top cooking and service professionals. In each lively atmosphere of Bourbon & Baker, Tallgrass Tap House and Guilty Biscuit, a traveler’s search for outstanding food and drink is complete. Flavored with Midwestern and Southern influences, Bourbon & Baker’s menu features culinary-centric small plates alongside a full-service bar and extensive bourbon selection. The drop-in bakery offers homemade treats, celebration cakes, and specialty cookies. The Tallgrass Tap House, an 11,000-square-foot full-service restaurant and microbrewery, has long been a favorite retreat for the local community and Kansas State University alumna. The 10-keg brewhouse produces a rotating selection of craft brews on tap. Enjoy comforting yet creative American fare from the regionally acclaimed Rooftop Bar while enjoying a great brew and great views of the Flint Hills. Guilty Biscuit is the newer dining concept from One Egg Group, featuring biscuit sandwiches, weekend breakfast specials and lighter Less Guilty creations. Cookies and gravy are a must, but it won’t be long before you’re craving like The Guilty itself, a French toast cookie with fried chicken, cream gravy and pecan bacon.
