1. Patrick Mahomes has a wife and two children

Patrick married his high school sweetheart Brittany Mathews on March 12, 2022 in a romantic ceremony in Hawaii attended by their then-1-year-old daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes. They welcomed their second child, a son named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III. Brittany and Sterling were seen celebrating on the field at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, following his second Super Bowl win.

2. Patrick is humble despite his fame and fortune

Just before his NFL training camp began in August 2020, Patrick hosted a social distancing barbecue at his mansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to Sports Illustrated. According to the outlet, his mother fears that the fame and fortune he earned himself would change who he is at core. However, she discovered that her son was the same boy she had raised when she peeked into his pantry at the shindig and saw Cool Ranch Doritos, his favorite snack. “You look at all the changes, whether it’s how tall he is or this mustache he’s got right now that’s driving me crazy, but he’s still the same,” she proudly noted at the time.

4. There is another sport that is close to Patrick Mahomes’ heart

Patrick Mahomes father, Pat Mahomes Sr., was a pitcher in Major League Baseball for 11 years. And while he doesn’t play, baseball is still a big part of Patrick’s life because, according to insiders, he became a part owner of the Kansas City Royals in 2020 after buying a fractional stake in the team. The deal made him the youngest owner in MLB history. “I am honored to become a part owner of the Kansas City Royals,” he said in a July 2020 statement. “I love this city and the people of this great city. This opportunity allows me to deepen my roots in this community, which I’m really looking forward to.”

5. Patrick Mahomes has a passion for shoes and ketchup

If Patrick ever tires of breaking records in the NFL, he has another passion to focus on: sneakers. In an August 2019 video shared by Bleacher Report, he showed off his and Brittany’s new home and custom-made shoe closet, which includes his collection of 180 pairs, although he probably has more at this point! “I get to wear each of these about twice a year,” he said in the video, before gushed about how wonderful it felt to be a first-time homeowner.

Patrick is also a huge fan of ketchup. His favorite ketchup is actually from the Texas fast food chain Whataburger. He used to be even tweeted that he would like the restaurant to bring a location to Kansas City. Maybe now that the Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl again and he’s been named MVP, they’re doing it – again.
