Why Marie Osmond wants Selena Gomez to play her in a biopic
When it comes to telling her life story, Marie Osmond relies on authenticity.
That’s why the star has her eye on the perfect actress — who was also a former child star — to play in a future biopic or miniseries.
“I think Selena Gomez would be awesome,” Marie told co-host Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Justin Sylvester on the E! News, “just because she’s been through a lot of things that I’ve been through.”
Just as Marie grew up with her brother Donny Osmond on their variety show Donny & Marie, Selena grew up in the spotlight of the hit Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place.
“I think it’s nice to have a kid’s perspective as an entertainer,” added Marie, “because it’s very different.”
Unlike some child stars, the thought of missing out on a normal childhood is never an issue for the 63-year-old, as told E! News, “I don’t look at life that way. I look at what is positive. I’d rather go into that than what I’ve missed.”
