Willow Release Schedule: When is Episode 3 Coming to Disney Plus?

Willow brought some old-school fantasy action to Disney Plus this week, with the series’ first two episodes landing on the streaming service. It ties into the events of the 1988 film, in which actor Warwick Davis (known for his many Star Wars roles) returns as the title character.

“Whether you’re a fan of ’80s movies or not, the new Willow is a slick and entertaining blend of swordplay and wordplay that evokes some of the old magic,” wrote CNET’s Rich Knightwell in his review.

The show launched on Wednesday November 30th and we’re getting one episode a week through January 11th.

Is there a trailer that will give me a glimpse of the show?

Lucasfilm released trailers during Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in May and D23 in September.

Do I have to see the movie to understand the show?

The series picks up several decades after the events of the 1988 film and regularly references it, but most of the characters are new. It does a solid job of weaving in the exposure so you don’t feel lost if you don’t have the bandwidth for the film.
