The woman who called police earlier this week to report boxer Gervonta Davis in a domestic violence incident said Friday that Davis “did no harm to me or our daughter.”

Davis, 28, was arrested in Florida Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly hit a woman on the right side of her head with a “closed-hand punch,” according to an incident report from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. “The past few days have been painful and extremely exhausting for everyone involved,” the woman wrote in her statement. “I pride myself on being very private; this situation was the last thing I wanted to make public. The state of our relationship was in a fragile space and Gervonta and I were both to blame for the argument.

“With emotions running high, in an intense moment while I was frantic, I unnecessarily called law enforcement. Gervonta did not harm me or our daughter. Today we have sought the help necessary to move forward with our lives. I am confident that with the guidance provided to us, we will be successful in our co-parenting dynamic.”

According to the incident report, the woman, who does not live with Davis and whose name has been blacked out, suffered a small abrasion on the inside of her upper lip, on the right side of her mouth.

On audio of the 911 call obtained by ESPN, the woman was heard saying, “Please help me; please help me.” i need help please I’m trying to go home, I have a baby in the car and I’m attacking myself. … He will kill me.”

According to records from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Davis was arrested and jailed on one domestic violence charge of assault. He was released Wednesday afternoon after a court hearing that set bail at $1,000, according to the Broward Sherriff’s Office.

Davis is scheduled to headline a PBC on Showtime PPV event against Hector Luis Garcia on January 7th in Washington, DC.
